Good and services and the environment is really good I really love the sea view and dinner next by the sea . So relax will recommend to anyone want A good restaurant around Berkeley

I hadn't been here in probably 30 years but decided to go for Mother's Day brunch. There was the regular brunch menu and a special 3 course prix fixe menu. We all chose the prix fixe menu. I had the prime rib and wife and son had Salmon. Everything was very good. The servers were attentive but not over bearing. We sat at a window and the views across the bay were picturesque. The regular brunch looks good too so we'll come back for that someday.

This is a really nice restaurant in the Oakland/San Francisco area. This location sits on the water with amazing views of the bay as well as the Golden Gate Bridge. To start we had raw oysters, calamari, and the seafood tower. I would say all were a little above average. My wife had the salmon blta, and a side salad. My sister had the tuna salad and I had the crab legs with mash potatoes. Others at the table had the burger, fish & chips and some other dishes. We had a party of 16 so it appeared everyone ordered something different and we knew kinda shared. I would say this place has a great view and the atmosphere was also above average. The virgin cocktails were very delicious, on our end we ordered three different kinds and they were all delicious. A few others ordered cocktails with alcohol and they said that they were really delicious and made just right But the food was just about average and the cost was about average for an upscale restaurant. The only other thing was our service was below average. I waited on my food a lot longer than the other people at our table and I had to ask twice about it. My wife ordered a coffee with vanilla syrup and her coffee arrived without it. She also had to ask twice about it and when she asked the third time she was informed that they were out of the syrup. My drink was never refilled until I asked for one.

I updated the review because the service after the service was done very well. The establishment contacted my partners party and resolved the issue. It's not often that a company reaches out after a complaint, but this one did. I'm glad about that because my partner's family has enjoyed this restaurant for years and would like to continue to dine here.

We celebrated a special ocassion at Skates. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the view was absolutely stunning. Skates made an special day an even more special night. The bathrooms were clean, all the staff greeted us, and we were seated quickly. We are not familiar with alcohol but are waiter made suggestions and allowed us to taste the wine before ordering. The appetizers were amazing, I ordered brussel sprouts and the crab artichoke dip. The waiter kept coming back with fresh bread and consistantly checked on us. The waiter asked what are special occasion was and brought us both a to die for creme brûlée and we ordered a very delicious cheese cake. Over all Skates on The Bay gets 10 stars from us.

Atmosphere? 5-star! Food? Yes, 5-star! Cocktails? Absolutely 5-star! Skates by the Bay is where it's at. Happy Hour hits different here--cool vibes, exceptional service. We tasted all the social hour items: Kung Pao Calamari, Prime Rib Sliders, Deep-Fried Deviled Eggs, and a fresh sushi roll. Each dish was fresh and delicious. Came here with 4 people on a Tuesday afternoon and there was plenty of seating inside. Good: - The linguine pasta here was amazing - huge portion sizes and the saltiness-to-savory ratio was perfect - Lots of great appetizers, I enjoyed the oysters and the artichoke dip a lot - The place was so fancy, it was upscale - Good dessert too, I liked the carrot cake and the cheesecake Bad: - A bit expensive but overall worth it for the food and the views - A bit slow service and the food took a while to get out Overall enjoyed the experience of coming here and that there were lots of options fon the menu!

Stunning views and delicious food! I ate here once for a celebratory lunch and really have enjoyed my time there. We had a reservation in advance and there was no wait for us, and we got lucky to have a corner window table overlooking Golden Gate Bridge. Everything went great after that: the waitress was very nice, the food came out pretty quickly, the drinks were good, and we all had a great time!
